Gabi Madrid is a multi-disciplinary sculptor that works predominantly with found objects, paper, textiles, flora and fauna. Through her desire to collect and catalog natural and artificial items, she uses these objects as sources of inspiration. Within her work there is concern for the human condition in relation to the environment; the reoccurring concept in her work is the cycle of life and death. Her artwork is connected to her Native American heritage and her experience of growing up in the South. She is currently earning her BFA in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design then afterwards she plans to use her skills to transform a school bus into her home to travel from coast to coast.
