Gabi Madrid is a multi-disciplinary sculptor that works predominantly with found objects, paper, textiles, flora and fauna. Through their desire to collect and catalog natural and artificial items, they use these objects as sources of inspiration. The artist’s work is connected to their Native American heritage and experience of growing up in the South.
Within their work there is concern for the human condition in relation to the environment; the reoccurring concept in the works is the cycle of life and death. Gabi is currently earning a BFA in Sculpture from the Savannah College of Art and Design then afterwards they plan to further advocate for conservation efforts and sustainable practices.
